This beautiful 5-6 year-old OES, Quinn, was welcomed home on Oct. 17, 2025. Quinn’s family found her on a rescue website about three months after losing their sweet boy, Fitzgerald. Their hearts were still heavy, but something about her just pulled them in. She was incredibly underweight, dealing with multiple infections, and had severely rotted teeth. They never learned what led her to be abandoned at the shelter, but it was clear she hadn’t been given the care or love she deserved. (And my goodness how that’s changed now.) Her furever family applied right away, interviewed, and drove to Austin to bring her home. From the moment she joined their family, they knew she was meant to be theirs.

Quinn has come such a long way since that day, and they’re so grateful she found her way to them. Quinn is spunky, sleepy and sweet and loves a good nap, her little (BIG) brother and having her hair in bows. (We cannot handle this!) However, she’d much rather not have to deal with the times she has to be away from her people.

Quinn is very routine-driven and every morning starts with a 2-mile walk, followed by breakfast, then getting her pigtails done for the day. After that, it’s pretty much nonstop wrestling with her big brother, Ballard. She’ll go all day like that until she crashes at night—usually on top of the pillows, as close to your head as she can get. (Sounds like the perfect day if you ask us!)

When Quinn came to her family, she was severely underweight and dealing with multiple long-standing infections. Since then, she’s gained a healthy amount of weight, had her bad teeth removed, and is now completely infection-free. She’s full of life, happy every single day, and easily the best part of the family. After losing Fitzgerald, their family was in a really dark place and they truly believe he sent Quinn to them. She came into their lives exactly when they needed her most and has brought so much light back into their home. She’s given Ballard a best friend and brought a kind of joy they didn’t think they’d feel again. She’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and just wants to make you happy. Quinn feels like a gift from Fitzgerald—and they’re so grateful she found her way to them. (And we couldn’t be happier for the human and furry members of this family to have a love story just like this!)

Pinky

Pinky

This approximately 2-year-old OES, Pinky (AKA Pinkster), found his forever home on September 18th, 2025. He was found as a stray in New Mexico and now lives his very best life in El Paso, Texas. Before finding his forever home, Pinky was re-fostered after allegedly breaking into a neighbor’s house and earning himself the reputation of a kleptomaniac. (Whoops!) His second foster never saw any evidence of this, and neither had his forever family. That is, until he became very comfortable. (Another whoops!) That’s when items around the house began mysteriously disappearing, only to be rediscovered later with Pinky casually chewing on them like nothing ever happened.

He once cleared the fence of his home in approximately five seconds to chase after his humans’ car while one of them was standing right next to him. Terrifying? Yes. Impressive? Also yes.

They have also found him standing proudly on top of their dining room table multiple times, apparently trying to inform them that he is finished eating. (There is whoops #3!) Personal space, furniture rules, and basic boundaries are concepts Pinky simply chooses not to acknowledge. This cutie has completely changed the rhythm of his family’s daily life for the better. He fills their home with laughter, chaos, cuddles, and constant entertainment.

He loves playing with his big sister and brother. People are always shocked that his big sister, the family’s resident Fun Police, actually wrestles with him and showers him with kisses.

Pinky especially enjoys teasing his big brother by taking full advantage of his smaller build despite big brother also being an OES (allegedly). Pinky will steal his brother’s fetch toys, parade around proudly with them, then strategically drop them on the opposite side of the backyard just to watch big brother wander around confused, waiting for a human to throw the toy that Pinky secretly relocated. Psychological warfare appears to be one of his favorite hobbies. (Pinky surely isn’t lacking personality!)

He also enjoys spending quality time staring at Mom’s face from approximately two inches away. At night, his favorite place to sleep is directly on top of Mom. Not next to. Not nearby. On Mom. Personal comfort is secondary to maximum physical contact. His family often jokes, but also truly believe, that their 15-year-old OES, Falkor, who went to doggy heaven last April, may have sent Pinky to them so they wouldn’t miss him quite so much. The similarities between them are simply too many to ignore, and more than once they’ve caught themselves calling Pinky “Falkor Jr.”

Pinky’s favorite things included, but most certainly aren’t limited to: Olympic-level jumping demonstrations (disguised as playing fetch because he never actually catches anything), tooshie scratches, wrestling sessions, toy redistribution operations and maximum human proximity at all times. That said, there’s also a list of things he isn’t shy about disliking: being away from his humans, his kennel (of course - antics aren’t limited there!) and going potty without emotional support.

Pinky is territorial, loyal, loving, silly, sneaky, slightly manipulative, deeply affectionate, and possesses absolutely zero boundary comprehension. (Sounds like the perfect OES description!!) And somehow, exactly when they needed him most, he found his way home. They wouldn’t have him any other way and he is completely, undeniably theirs. (If this isn’t a match made in heaven, we don’t know what is!)

Whiskey

Whiskey

This handsome OES is Whiskey, who was rescued in November 2025 from El Paso, TX. He was found dumped in the desert with his mama and siblings. RROESR was on this family's radar because a friend had adopted the sweetest pup, Oliver, many years before. (Referrals are the best!) They saw a whole litter of puppies on the Facebook page and fell in love with this male, golden haired pup. Those blue eyes just melted their hearts. (We can completely understand!)

The Weavers made arrangements from Houston to El Paso right before Thanksgiving and surprised their three human kiddos with the best surprise! Whiskey is the perfect addition to their family and they cannot believe how much he’s grown since November! There’s no telling just how much he’ll continue to grow. He’s the biggest cuddle bug, loves playing fetch and walking the kids to school and will never miss a meal. (Seems like Whiskey’s got the finer things in life figured out!) This sweet boy loves his food and The Weavers are so grateful for RROESR! (And we are so grateful for them!)

This pretty OES mix is Bailey, who’s life started on a construction site in El Paso, TX in September 2025, where she was born before being rescued and brought to her forever home in Denver, Colorado. Her Momma rescued her the week before Thanksgiving and they had a very eventful flight home with her screaming! (oops!) Fast forward, and she recently got her first haircut and already looks like an adult…for which her Mom was not emotionally prepared for!

Bailey is living her best life as an emotional support dog for college staff, with big dreams of becoming a certified therapy dog. (And we have no doubt she’ll succeed!) A DNA test revealed she is a unique mix of Old English Sheepdog and Golden Retriever, giving her both her adorable looks and her sweet, playful personality. Bailey’s Momma describes her as pure joy! She loves people, thrives on attention, and is never far from her favorite Lamb Chop, Dinosaur, and Woof toys. Whether she is out on a walk, playing in the snow, or simply soaking up love from everyone she meets, Bailey is the definition of a happy go lucky girl and truly, she is perfect.

This cutie of an OES is Wellington, better known as Welly, and he is loving life in his furever home! This playful guy is always up for an adventure: whether it’s hiking the trails, chasing his beloved ball, or earning treats during training sessions (his favorite motivation!) Welly is working hard on his leash manners and making great progress, especially when snacks are involved. (We can get behind this type of motivation!) At home, Welly adores playing with his little sister, Wilma, soaking up snuggles, getting all the booty scratches, and being dad’s shadow- ideally with a ball in the mix. Full of joy, curiosity, and fluff, Welly is thriving thanks to the amazing foundation he got from RROESR! Nothing better than a match made in heaven, if you ask us.

Hodor

Hodor

Hodor (formerly Peso) was welcomed home on October 5th, 2025. And while his former family had to surrender this sweet, loving boy, his now furever family gives a huge shout out to his prior family, as it is very evident he was loved and cared for. (Thank you to them for sure!)

This sweet soul is loyal, loving and playful and is a HUGE fan of (lots of) toys, treats, walks, hide and go seek, talking/ singing and cuddles. Car rides are his favorite, especially to Grandma and Grandpa's house and the river, walks, cuddles, and tug a war. While Hodor sure seems easy to please, he could do without people walking by *his* house - he will most certainly bark at them a lot. (oops!)

Since joining his furever home, Hodor has learned to go up and down the stairs and even though it’s only been 3 months, Hodor has truly become part of the family and his pawrents couldn’t be happier! (And neither could we!)

Four-year-old Meka got to join her furever home on July 01, 2025. Her now family had an OES for 12 years (awww) who passed in April 2025 and they had always wanted to rescue one. They found RROESR on social media and applied to adopt immediately.

Meka is an athletic, clingy and sweet girl who loves chasing squirrels and little animals. (This is quite cute to her family but may not be to them - oops!) She stays around her family since they work at home, but she loves to go outside and find some animals to chase! She'll jump into the bed or couch with her family, too. So, she’s pretty much summed up as very clingy to her family and so sweet! (What more could you ask for?!) Meka’s one “ugh” in life is weird people…girls got a personality, what can we say?!

When Meka first joined her family she was super timid. She would be scared to walk into new rooms or even bark. Fast forward and now she barks whenever she sees new people and runs all over the house. Her tail is constantly wagging high up in the air!

Meka’s family took her sheepherding and she didn't show too much interest (LOL) but she WAS excited to greet the other people and dogs at the ranch! Her family suspects she may have some hunting / pointing instinct and they are planning to take her bird hunting this winter/spring. She's also super athletic and graceful. The family’s previous sheepdog was a wrecking ball and tore through the house and backyard but Meka is hyper agile and can run through a room full of toys and not knock anything over! (We need a video of this!) She also jumps VERY high and easily over high couches and bushes. One funny quirk is that she has a habit of eating poop! (uh oh…) They try to pick everything up but sometimes they miss a turd and she may end up eating it! (It happens!) Once she even brought a giant turd back into the kitchen for her dad…and being the great dad that he is, he thought it was very sweet that she'd share :-) (Sure sounds like Meka is in the most perfect home for her!)

Binx

Binx

This adorable 3-year-old OES is Binx, who joined his furever home on December 13th, 2025. Binx was rescued from El Paso emaciated and weighing 38lbs as an adult. After a couple months at the rescue, Binx gained some weight but was extremely anxious. He was terrified of kids and men to the point he would pee and defecate on himself. (Poor, sweet boy.) Binx arrived at the home of his foster on November 19 and after a couple days it was evident to his fosters that he was, indeed, home. (We love a good foster fail!) Binx now weighs 54lbs and loves his dog siblings, Fluffy (7) and Ellie (6). After 3.5 months of patience, love and lots of treats, Binx loves his Dad and gets excited to play fetch and run with his sister, Ellie.

Binx is curious, shy and vocal and loves to sleep on the couch and people watch from the 2nd floor of his home. He also loves to run after Ellie and bark when mom is taking too long at the gym. (How dare she do that over hangout with him!) Binx also loves treats, pupcups, ice cream and the occasional steak.

Binx isn't a fan of car rides but has learned it’s not too bad when they lead to Starbucks or his favorite doodle dog park in New Braunfels, where he has made friends and enjoys walking around with his favorite human (Mom). Binx is still shy and learning to accept strangers visiting his home. He doesn’t like loud noises, strangers, young kids or being away from his fur siblings. Binx has come a long way from his first day with his now family. He’s confident and lives carefree destroying one stuffed toy at a time. (We love some good antics in OES’s!)

Since Binx has joined his home, he’s grown into a confident and vocal pup. He’s learned not all strangers are scary and gets FOMO. (We’ve all been there!) Binx’s family also shared that he likes to bark for attention and has a set bed time of 10PM…and when that time comes, EVERYONE has to go to bed. (LOL - sounds like Binx may or may not run the household and we couldn’t love that more!)

Willa

This OES is 20-month old Willa who was originally found walking the streets of Santa Fe, NM. She was adopted but it didn’t work out. Willa’s now furever family took her in as a foster, but after 2 days SHE decided she was theirs. (We appreciate a girl with firm decision making!) She won’t let her Dad out of her sight and she sleeps in bed with her humans and their other OES, Molly. She likes to get attention by jumping on Molly, crying and giving kisses. In fact, her family nicknamed her Ktypto after Superman’s dog in the movie 2025. She “flies” through the air to give kisses and hugs. Willa is also very vocal, but not barking, rather, trying to speak to her family.

Willa is a bundle of energy and loves going in the car, no matter where she’s going, traveling and camping in the family Motorhome. Oh, and she will eat anything her Dad gives her! She loves wrestling with Molly, too. While this girl certainly appreciates the little things in life, she most certainly does NOT like being left home when her humans go out. (Can’t say we blame her!)

Since Willa joined her family, she no longer gets them up at 5:30am, but she definitely makes sure she has breakfast before they do! (There’s that decision making again!)

Willa is so full of energy that it makes it difficult to put on socks and shoes in the morning, and it’s impossible to get in the car without her beating you to it. She is the first OES they’ve had with a tail and she is their 12th OES rescue. They shared that they now understand why they dock tails - it’s like a whip! (Kidding, of course, but also, those tails CAN do some damage!)

Ringo

This oh-so-cute OES mix is 18-month Sir Ringo Starr who joined his furever home on Jan. 10 ^th , 2025. Ringo had lived on the streets in El Paso for a year and was rescued there but RROESR was called to get him given their sheepdog expertise. He lived with his fosters for 2.5 months until his now pawrents drove from Pennsylvania to San Antonio. After 2-nights in a 4-star hotel, they headed home. Unfortunately, Ringo made a little escape in AL on the way home and despite his fosters having an air tag on him, they found the air tag, but no Ringo. L Poor sweetie had spent more time on the streets than with humans so he was afraid of everyone. After a grueling 36 hours of utilizing every avenue to find him (including his fosters driving hundreds of miles to help), they were able to catch him in a school yard.

Ringo loves his momma the most but he also loves food and treats, with Blue Nudges Chicken Jerky being his favorite! He loves playing with his Momma’s granddaughter's Cavalier King Charles, Millie and visiting with family. He is starting to like toys now, loves car rides and fell in love with snow after he saw it for the first time! While Ringo has a lot of things he loves, he does NOT to be left alone and is not a fan of going in his crate. He also doesn't like his paws washed by me but loves his groomer. He is still skittish around new people but he’s working on it!

Ringo also loves running in his big new big yard and he is adjusting well. He likes to look out the window and they recently started obedience classes for adult dogs. He's very smart and picks up on things quickly. He lays in his bed next to his humans’ bed and will lick his Momma’s to let her know it's time to get up.

Since Ringo has joined his family, he has become very comfortable with his surroundings and is getting use to people more. When they first got him, he would not eat treats now he will eat treats and is following commands and he even walks better on a leash. He is being more devilish now and getting into things that he didn't when he first came into their lives. (oops!) He is having fun being a beautiful furry doggie.

Ringo’s momma shared that she missed her two female OES since they went over the Rainbow Bridge and Ringo is helping her with her grief. She loves Ringo so very much and could not imagine her life without him. He is truly a part of the family! There’s no doubt Ringo got the perfect family for him!

Bruce

This handsome OES is 1-year old, Bruce, who joined his furever home on Aug 18 ^th , 2024. Bruce (originally Cosmo) was found with his brother, Bandit, abandoned in a parking lot in El Paso, TX. RROESR had both boys picked up and they were fostered with an amazing family in Duncanville, until Bruce’s family was able to meet with them and take Bruce home! Bruce now has an older Sheepadoodle brother, Flynn. From the very first introduction, they knew that Bruce and Flynn would be the best of buds. They do everything together: play, sleep & eat and are pretty inseparable. And oh so cute when they play!

Bruce is goofy, adorable and loving and boy does he LOVE treats! He knows the second he hears a bag crinkling open and runs over. He is also obsessed with playing fetch and getting ice cubes as a reward on a hot day. Bruce enjoys the little things in life but he does NOT like squirrels and is always trying to chase them down (oops!) He also isn't a fan of people walking by the house (stranger danger), and barks to let his family know when there is anyone around. (smart boy!) But, Bruce's biggest dislike of all is being left at home for a couple of hours when his humans need to go out because he wants to be where ever they are at all times!

Bruce’s family shared that he loves sleeping in with the whole family and waking everyone up with sloppy kisses. He also loves to go outside in the morning to check everything out, then come back in for a nap because apparently that’s exhausting! Bruce pretty much cuddles up and naps all day while his humans get some work done. He loves to go to the park, take long walks (to chase the silly squirrels), and spend as much time with his humans and brother as possible.

Bruce has adapted well to his new home in Plano, TX and is thriving. He loves to snuggle, follows you everywhere (for protection!), and always has a smile on his face and light in his eyes. When his family first adopted Bruce, he was a little shy in his new home and it took a little bit for him to get used to their routine. Once he realized he was in his furever home, he quickly adjusted and became the most loving, sweet, caring, and adorable dog. He's perfect for his family and home, and loves every stranger he meets! All of his families friends are so obsessed with Bruce and his sweet and kind demeanor. (We can’t say we blame them!) Bruce’s family feels so lucky to have found him, and they know he feels lucky too!

Bruce’s family also shared that he has absolutely changed their lives and home. They are forever grateful to RROESR for introducing them to best pup they could have ever asked for. Each day Bruce shows his family how happy and loved he is, and they keep showing him our unconditional love back. We’ll end with a funny story: One day while Bruce’s human dad was out of town, his Mom was calling Bruce's name and couldn't find him in the house at all. She started frantically searching outside and in every room. She made it to the back where the primary bedroom was and captured the funniest picture. Bruce had buried himself behind all of the decorative pillows on the bed and looked so confused as to why he was being bothered during his comfy nap. It was the perfect example of his silly and loving personality. (What a ham!) Bruce’s family couldn't love him anymore and we couldn’t love this love story anymore!

Teddy

This fuzz-ball of an OES is perfectly named, Teddy. Teddy, who joined his family in August 2024, is getting ready to celebrate his first birthday on April 16 ^th , 2025! Teddy came from a breeder in Missouri and for some unknown reason, he didn’t sell and ended up at RROESR. His Momma can’t imagine why he didn’t sell because he’s the cutest thing in the world (and we do NOT disagree!) But she’s sure glad he didn’t because he’s her baby now!!

Teddy is an affectionate, ornery, playful young man who loves balls… lots and lots of balls! He is happiest when he can play with his OES brother, taking naps and/or receiving treats. (Sounds like Teddy surely figured out the meaning of life very quickly!) Though, staying home when his Momma has to go somewhere without him does NOT make him happy. (But how do you leave this face?!)

Since joining his forever home he’s become less timid and his Momma says he is such a lovable, playful, beautiful baby and she just loves him so much. We can confidently say there is a reason no one else scooped adorable Teddy up because clearly this was meant to be!

Molly

This adorable OES is Molly, who joined her family in October 2024. She was in foster care with RROESR and her now Momma had just lost her OES and Molly was the perfect fit.

Molly is a goofy, friendly lover who enjoys travelling in her family’s motorhome and eating! Molly is happiest when she is spending time with her family and their other pups. This easy-going young lady has yet to show any dislikes!

Since joining her now furever home, Molly has decided that sleeping with her human is a must, so, in turn, their bed space has decreased quite a bit! (We’d take that trade off, too, for those sweet OES snuggles!) Molly’s family shared that she loves travelling with them in their motorhome and she is a huge fan of snow! It sure is clear that Molly found her perfect home!

Champ

This cutie of a Sheepadoodle is Champ. Champ was an owner surrender and his previous family was training him to be a therapy dog for their son, but didn't feel like they were able to give him the time or training he needed so he got to join his furever family on September 2nd, 2024.

Champ is a playful, loving and boisterous boy who enjoys walks, snuggles, new friends, and peanut butter! (We hear him on all of these things!) He can most often be found sleeping, laying in the bay window, playing with toys, and going for long walks. And while Champ surely is easy to please, he is most certainly not a fan of fireworks. (We don’t blame him!)

Since joining his forever home, Champ has become more confident and his family shared that he has brought a lot of joy and fun into their home! (We can only imagine how fun he is to live with!)

Astro

This adorable OES is 2-yo Astro. This cutie was, unfortunately, given up by his owner along with several other OES’s. The poor babies were very neglected, starved, underweight and had to battle through tick related illnesses. Astro’s foster Momma took great care of him and got his blood count back up and weight on him so he could be neutered. Then, he finally made his way to his forever home in July 2024!

Astro’s furever Momma describes him as a gentle, very loving, bed hogging velcro dog! (Sure seems like perfection if you ask us!) He can most often be found close to his human parents, in the bed or going for walks. And while he doesn’t prefer grooming (can’t say we blame him!), he loves chasing squirrels, guarding the house and his chickens and sleeping in his humans bed!

Since Astro found his forever home, he’s become goofier, more outgoing and more playful. (Nothing makes us happier to hear!) Astro’s Momma shared that he goes everywhere with them: camping, restaurants, stores and even rides in the car for basic errands. His favorite are the camping adventures and everyone he meets, people and dog friends, along the way! Love stories are our favorite!

Baylen

This adorable OES is 6-year-old Baylen, who was welcomed home in August 2024. Before joining her famiy, Baylen was kept outside in a kennel in Mesa, AZ and, unfortunately, was never allowed in the house and was used for far too many breedings. She was put on Craig’s List and rescued by RROESR where she was initially fostered by a wonderful family in Scottsdale, AZ. As luck would eventually have it, this is not far from where Baylen’s now furever family live. Unfortunately, they had just lost their beloved Brinley and their our other OES, Brea, was so lonely. The stars aligned (to say the least!) and they happily adopted Baylen.

Baylen is a sweet little mouse who loves to follow her family into every room in the house. (We can’t blame her after her start to life!) She also loves her walks, and rides in the car, along with her numerous chew bones. Even though she is not a fan of getting bathed or brushed, she does get a short grooming session daily (we support her parents on this one!) but she also gets one of her favorite things every day – long walks!

Since joining her family, Baylen is now potty trained and is gaining a little vocabulary. Oh, and she is also walking on a leash a lot better…without tripping her mom! (This is a win for everyone if you ask us – LOL!) Baylen’s family is so in love with their little mouse and they said she is just the sweetest, kindest girl. Bonus: their other OES loves her also! (It sounds like everyone surely won in this story!)

Penny

This adorable OES is 3-year-old Penny. Penny, (Penelope), was in boarding and while her family doesn’t know too much about her journey to RROESR before they welcomed her home in August 2024, they do know that she did have puppies and no one knows what happened to her babies. (Poor girl clearly had a rough start.)

Penny is a loveable, crazy and affectionate young lady who loves playing with her fur brother, peanut butter chips and going for rides and walks. She enjoys every second of playing with her fur siblings and she will never turn down cuddles before bedtime. It’s clear this cutie has a much better life now, though she doesn’t love loud noises or people talking loudly. (We don’t blame her!)

When Penny first arrived in her now furever home, she didn’t know how to eat from a dog bowl. She would only eat her food from the floor and little by little she started getting used to it and now she happily eats from her bowl! She is still very timid and scared when her family tries to pet her. She will put her head down when they try to but she is starting to trust them more with time. She loves sleeping on her humans’ bed with her fur sister now but when she first arrived she would only want to be in the bathroom on the floor. (Bless this little girls her heart.)

Penny’s family initially reached out to RROESR to foster Penny but had to back out. They saw she was still in boarding a few weeks later and decided to reach out with hopes they would get a chance to foster – and they did! Within a week they fell in love with Penny and wanted to adopt her. They could not happier that they did and they just love her to pieces. Penny is an amazing beautiful soul and her family couldn't see their lives without her. If this isn’t a most perfect ending to one chapter and beginning to another, we don’t know what is!

This beautiful 2-yo girl, Charlotte (formerly Darcy), was welcomed home in June 2024. Darcy’s family was looking for a rescue that would fit with their family - an energetic preschooler, an old lab mix, and 2 cats. They saw the posting about Darcy and were able to set up a meet and greet with their old fur baby and daughter. We knew within minutes that she would be the perfect fit with her easy-going personality!

Charlotte is a wiggly, energetic and happy young lady who loves to spend her days playing ball outside and sleeping! Her lab brother taught her how to play fetch and now she’s better than him at it! (oops – LOL!) She also loves all the toys - especially ropes! This little girl seems to enjoy the simple things in life…but don’t ask her to eat vegetables (can’t say we blame her!!) or leave her by herself!

Since Charlotte joined her family, they shared that her wonderful personality didn’t change at all. The only change has been her just learning how to play like a dog should have the opportunity to. (Oh goodness, our hearts!) They shared that she is the piece they didn’t know they were missing and that fits in perfectly! Their old lab actually likes her and she is the best little friend for their daughter. Oh, and she also gives the best hugs! And we anticipate there is LOTS of hugging going on in this family!!

This cutie of an OES is Becca, who found her forever home in June 2024. In April, the city of El Paso, Texas shut down a horrendous backyard breeding situation. RROESR stepped up and took the five sick and severely malnourished Old English Sheepdogs from the site. The Segar's sweet Becca was one of those dogs.

Becca's family wants to thank Sunny, Becca's foster mom, for starting her healing journey. This beautiful girl has really blossomed the last 6 months inside and out. Becca is a very sweet, gentle, smart OES. After spending the first two years of her life in a concrete backyard breeding puppies, the outside world was understandably scary. She quickly bonded with her now furever family and their other two rescue pups. She is learning people and places outside of home are fun and safe. Right now she is loving taking a scent work class. With her loving nature they are confident that with time she'll become one of their therapy dogs. (We can't wait to see Becca continue to thrive!)

The Segar family will be forever grateful to RROESR for the work they do. (And we are forever grateful for families like Segar's who give these sweet pups all they deserve and so much more.)

This handsome 10-month old OES is Bandit Beaverhousen. This cutie was welcomed home on Aug 17 ^th , 2024 after being found on the streets of El Paso along with his brother, Kosmo. Bandit was fostered by a sweet family in Duncanville, Tx until he got to join his now furever family as their 3rd Sheepdog. He immediately fell in love with his two brothers. (Can you imagine all the adorable antics in this house?!)

Bandit is easily described in 3 words…best dog ever!!! He loves his toys (especially tennis balls), belly scratches, carrots, peanut butter dog biscuits, long walks and bed snuggles. (Could he be any more perfect?!) Bandit spends his days chasing balls, going for walks, playing with Alexander Hamilton and Bruno and meeting other dogs in the neighborhood! However, as much as Bandit clearly just loves life, he’d much prefer his family got rid of their talking Halloween witch and stuffed Christmas reindeer. (LOL)

Bandits' family shared that he has been the best sheepdog they have ever owned and that he is a total camera hog and loves to have his picture taken. (What a riot!) This is Bandit’s family's 11th sheepdog (wow!) and their second rescue. They are so thrilled to have him and it's clear Bandit hit the jackpot and then some!

This sweetheart of an OES is the two-and-a-half year old, Winnie, who got to join her furever home in February 2024. Winnie’s Momma spotted her (then Martha) on a shelter page with little time left. She reached out to Red River and asked if they could pull her since her now family is in KS. RROESR immediately sprung into action and before the shelter closed that day, they had Winnie picked up and on her way to her foster family! They put Winnie’s family in contact with her foster and they were able to find a transport to bring her half way to meet them. She's been the very best addition and they love her dearly! (It’s safe to say Winnie’s life changed that day!)

Winnie is a sweet, loyal and playful young lady who recently got a little Bernedoodle puppy sister who quickly became her best friend! Winnie also enjoys playing outside and in the sprinklers when they're on (too cute!) but she could do without new people and loud noises.

Winnie’s family shared that she is so much more relaxed now than when she first joined her family and she is getting used to her grandparents stopping by. Her family really can't imagine life without Winnie. They lost their resident pup just 2 days before they were scheduled to pick up Winnie and they struggled with what the right move was, but knew Winnie was brought to them for a reason and that Cooper would want them to be Winnies forever family. Winnie helped heal their hearts after losing their sweet Cooper and they are forever grateful for her. We have no doubt that as much as Winnie’s family saved her, that she, too, saved them! This is a match made in heaven if you ask us!

This 3-year-old cutie of an Old English Sheepdog is Echo. Before he was welcomed home on July 15 ^th , 2024, Echo was found as a stray and pulled from a shelter in Grand Prairie, TX. He was a matted mess, infested with worms and suffering from a respiratory infection. With the help of RROESR and his foster Mom, Echo is now a healthy, housebroken, neutered, and fully vaccinated 62 lb. bundle of burning love!

Echo’s furever Mom describes him as affectionate, joyful and stubborn. If he could, he'd spend his days with paws wrapped around his family members. He is adept at vertical leaps and can give lip smacking kisses from 2 feet away. He loves riding in the RV, going on long hikes and chasing his favorite soccer ball. He’s also known to be found wading in creeks and sleeping upside down. (Silly boy!) And while Echo is clearly an easy young man to please, he's a bit of runner. (oops!) Given that naughty little behavior, he must be kept in an enclosed yard or on the leash. And while “come, sit and stay” are all words he knows, he’s just a bit selective as to when he demonstrates said understanding. (Perhaps that stubborn thing coming into play!)

Since joining his family, Echo now knows they will not abandon him and that they will always come back home to be with him. He no longer empties the trash, removes all contents from the pantry or finds and eats an errant sock! Oh, and about that sock… Echo’s family was warned by his foster mom that, while in her care, he found a sock and ate it. She fretted for a couple of days until Echo passed the sock. So, they figured, no sweat, we don't leave socks lying around, so that won't be a problem. Last week, while folding the laundry, Echo’s Momma came up short one sock. Needless to say, she spent a couple of sleepless nights waiting for Echo to do his thing and pass that sock. And, from that day forward, they are now ever so vigilant to count their socks! Sure sounds like Echo found the most perfect family for him!

This cutie-pie of an OES, Winston, was welcomed home on July 21st, 2024. This sweet boy was in Colorado and his Momma saw him and just knew immediately their family had to bring him home!

Winston (AKA Wonton, Sir Winston or Winnie – this guy has some great nicknames!), is a happy, athletic soul who is, quite frankly, just a baby! His list of loves includes, but is certainly not limited to: water/playing in his baby pool, running, sunbathing, chasing the horse & squirrels, snacks, cuddles, walking…and gathering his stuffed animals into a pile. (LOL – he totally is a baby!) Oh, he also loves car rides, camping and just hanging out at home - as long as he is with his family, he is content. (Could he be any more perfect?!) However, we should mention that all bets are off once he gets to the dog park….suddenly he doesn’t remember he has a family! And while that list of likes is quite long, there are a few thing Sir Winston could do without: vegetables, the vacuum and Mama’s blow dryer! (Silly guy!)

Winston’s family shared that he’s adjusted so well to his new family life! He’s adventurous and brave and still learning about life in the suburbs. He’s very smart and has learned how to sit, shake and lay down. He’s so confident and happy and has gained 10 (good) pounds since moving in. They also shared that he did sneak out one time, but he is loyal and came back to the front door and waited for someone to let him. (Silly boy probably just testing his waters!) This cutie keeps his family on their toes but he’s so happy and jolly and just brings smiles to their faces each and every day!

Winston’s family just loves him so much and he is the absolute perfect addition to their family! He lays by mom’s side as she works and is very quiet listening to calls and he looks forward to his daily walks and playtime in the backyard. They are excited to teach him more tricks and show him around Colorado and more! Winston’s family says they hit the jackpot, but we’d argue Winston would most likely say HE is the one that hit the jackpot!

BUCKY

This adorable 6.5-month-old fluff of a sheepdog is Bucky, who got to join his family in April 2024. This cutie was surrendered from a breeder to a vet because he had parvo. (Poor guy.) Thankfully, the vet said “we’ll get him well," contacted RROESR and from there he then found his now furever home!

Bucky is a sweet, friendly, smart young man who loves any and all squeaky toys and dislikes scolding (can’t say we blame him!!) His Momma shared that he is just so chill and he really enjoys just hanging after his morning walk! (But just make sure you aren't late for that morning walk!)

As Bucky has adjusted to his new (wonderful) life, he has learned to be okay with his Momma leaving for an errand and adjusted to sleeping in the kitchen. Bucky’s Mom shared that he has healed her heart and she can’t believe how fast she’s fallen in love with this monkey! (We aren’t the least bit shocked – look at him!!) She didn’t think she was ready for a puppy, but the unconditional love is overwhelming! We are ALL for a good love story!!

This handsome 5-year-old OES is Sam, AKA "Wilson, the House Pony" (LOL) was welcomed to his furever home on 1/06/24. 'Wilson' came to his now Momma as a foster after his person unexpectedly passed away. Wilson's Momma's good friend drove with her through a snowstorm in January from Denver to Missouri to pick him up. Needless to say, this Momma is a foster fail but she wouldn't have it any other way! Wilson went from a small town boy to central Denver with all its noise and activity. He's very devoted and learning life can be good as a city pony.

Wilson is best described a sweet, devoted and BIG! He loves to hang out with his Momma and really enjoys his long, daily walks. Oh, and we can't forget to mention that he's quite the snuggle bunny, too. (He sounds like heaven on Earth!) And while this mini pony sure is easy to please, he could most certainly do without squirrels...and baths!

Wilson is extremely bonded to his Momma and follows her around the house whenever she moves from room to room. (Smart boy!) He's increasing his confidence and has even lost a few pounds.

Wilson has adjusted surprisingly well to city life (though he still is not fond of large noisy trucks). At least he no longer routinely freaks out when they pass on their daily walks. He's a very smart boy and learns commands quickly. Wilson is even working on hopefully successfully passing his pet therapy tests so he can bring joy and smiles to staff and patients at a local hospital. His Mom is optimistic about his quick progress so far and we all KNOW there's no doubt he'll make everyone he meets smille!

November of 2023 was a time of challenge and loss for the Haller family that soon got a miracle in Rumor. They had moved to a new state 3000 miles from their home less than a year earlier and their OES of many years crossed the bridge at 13 years of age. They had a new home, a pantry of treats, countless toys and a fenced in yard, but no furry friend to share them with.

Together, they began to scour the internet for a furry friend. They had a few conditions that this friend would have to meet: he would have to need them at least as much as they needed him, had to be between 1-3 years old and be fairly large.

Pages were searched and forms were completed and within a week they heard a Rumor. Perhaps, more accurately, we heard of Rumor, an OES who was approximately 1 1/2 years old and found on the streets of El Paso TX. He needed a home with a fence and someone to love. This was a perfect fit. Within a few days, this 65-pound ball of fluff was no longer a Rumor, he was now a reality and they called him Finn. They called him and he happily responded. So it was meant to be.

Finn is a part of their family and continues to thrive. He is their happy boy who loves to jump and play, and he will do just about anything for a treat. He is a Velcro dog if there ever was one. (Truly sounds like a match made in Heaven!)

The Haller's believe wholeheartedly that miracles just don’t happen, they are fueled by charitable love and service. And it's this that brings them to mention all the angelic helpers along the way who did their due diligence to bring about their miracle and they send the biggest thanks to each and everyone of them.

What a wonderful network of humans who cared enough to talk through all the things that needed to be said, the plans that needed to be made and the countless tasks that had to be done all to secure a holiday miracle. If this isn't a love story, we don't know what is!

MAJOR

Major is a 1-year-old Old English Sheepdog and full of energy! He was welcomed home in January 2024 and lives with his furever family in O’Fallon, MO. Major loves playing with (better known as bothering) his sister and playing in the yard. He also very much enjoys playing with his chicken toy, which happens to be the only one he doesn’t chew apart! He loses his cool every time he hears the word “walk." (We can't say we blame him - exploring is fun!) Major is so sweet and loves to be close to his humans. If he sees an open car door, he will always jump in it! We are so thankful for Major! (And we are confident Major is thankful for his family!!)

This cutie pie of an OES is 4-year-old DaVinci, who was welcomed home on Nov. 10 ^th , 2022. Davi was surrendered by his old owner due to his owners declining health conditions and he was a wanted commodity as he had countless applications put in by those trying to scoop him up! He ended up his forever home in College Station, TX and loves going for walks in Aggie Park and gets plenty of compliments any time he’s there. (We aren’t the least bit shocked by this!) He now lives with mom and dad who give him all of the attention he could possibly want. (Not spoiled at all, is he?!)

DaVinci is a happy, playful and loveable boy who enjoys all the finer things in life: tugging, long walks, his Wubba, cheese slices (smart boy!) and butt scratches. In addition to his favorites (long walks and butt scratches), he also loves playing with anyone and everyone, every chance he can! Oh, and did we mention he LOVES any type of cheese he can get his nose on?! While this sweet boy clearly has a zest for life, one thing he could do without is little dogs. (oops - LOL!)

Since joining his new home, DaVinci has clearly adjusted well and he now primarily goes by “Davi.” However, he may or may not have moments when he’s in trouble, in which case he gets the “full name” treatment!! It sure looks like Davi has it made (and so does his human family!)

This adorable Old English Sheepdog, Faith Eleanor Rigby Rios, is about 7 months old and found her forever home on December 22 ^nd , 2023. Faith was in foster home with her sister, Abby, and her now Momma had applied for her & others but they didn’t work out…at first, anyway! Suddenly Faith was available again and she got to join her furever family – which also includes Sasha (a Maltese mix), Bayley (a Puggle mix), and 3 (noisy) parrots.

Faith’s family describes her as a calm, marvelous, lover who adores playing fetch outside, carbides, walks, hanging on the sofa with her Momma, and sitting in laps. Faith loves to get up early with her Mom, really enjoys her breakfast and can often be found foraging through her toy box. As much as Faith enjoys the simple things in life, she also enjoys taking naps and getting into stuff around bird cages and throughout the house. (oops!) While this sweetie truly just enjoys life, she is NOT a fan of fireworks, gunshots or loud cars. (We can’t say we blame her!)

Faith’s family shared that she housebroke quickly and has learned to sit, lay down, wait and shake hands. (Smart girl!) Momma also shared that as they were recovering from the loss of their Maltese, Matea, they realized their heart desire was to have an OES join their crew. Since Momma had owned one 30 years ago, she knew what she was getting into and the search began. During the search, she was scammed online and the emotional pain of “loosing” yet another fur baby felt so real even though it was just a scam. As she resumed her search for an OES, she decided to look at some rescues and that is where she found Faith. That was her name in her foster home and after all that they had been through with losing Matea, & the other puppy, they knew she needed to keep her name. Momma needed Faith because she has FAITH and this sweet baby is the result of God showing her to trust and wait for His timing for the right dog for her! We absolutely love a perfectly timed true love story!

This absolutely adorable one and a half year old Old English Sheepdog is Mollie who found her furever home on July 21st 2023. Mollie’s family had been searching for quite some time for a sweet rescue fur baby to join their current fur clan (a 5-yr-old lab and a 9-yr-old goldendoodle). Unfortunately, (or maybe not?!) they were denied two other doggos before they came across Mollie. They applied for her and within minutes had a call from RROESR that Mollie was theirs!

The fur babies of this amazing family are 100% “the kids” and life revolves around them. (We want to join this family!!) Though, Mollie’s family will tell you THEY hit the jackpot because she is simply perfect for them. Mollie is a relatively calm girl but she loves a good game of chase with her lab sibling and a recoup nap session with her doodle sibling! (Seems like she’s got life figured out!) Oh and she will never turn down morning snuggle time. (We’d never get out of bed!)

Despite not liking cowboy hats or the sound of certain chains on purses (poor sweetie will go run, hide and shake in terror), Mollie has adjusted so unbelievably well to her home. She just loves life and even gets to spend half her time in Louisiana and the other half in Colorado…which she arrives at in style - via private flights with her family!!

Her family is confident she is LITERALLY the best dog ever and after they got her, they knew there was a reason the other dogs didn’t work out…because Mollie was meant to be theirs. (Talk about a match made in heaven!)

Parker has turned one year and ten months old, and describing her in just three words is quite the challenge. However, if they had to sum her up, they’d go with goofy, smart, and absolutely loving.

This fluffy bundle of joy has a heart as big as her enthusiasm for toys, the backyard, and, of course, her partner in crime, Piper. Parker's attending a training class, and while she excels in the classroom, let's just say she brings her own flair to the curriculum when she's home!

Now, Parker isn't just a canine extraordinaire; she has her quirks too. Trains and loud noises? Not her cup of kibble. But show her a walk, a play session, or a cozy TV-watching spot, and you've got one contented pup.

Her daily routine is a mix of business (the outdoor kind), walks, play dates with Piper, naps, more play, another stroll, meals, playtime encore, TV, and the grand finale – bedtime. It's safe to say Parker knows how to live her best doggy life!

On the personality front, Parker has grown leaps and bounds. Initially, her family's little shadow, she now knows they’ll always come back, and she's a pro at stair zoomies – a skill she's mastered like a champ!

Here's to Parker, the Waltons goofy, smart, and loving furball, and to many more adventures and cuddles ahead.

This adorable Old English Sheepdog mix, PonPon, is a two-year-old sweetheart who was welcomed home on April 15th, 2023. PonPon was an owner surrender in New Mexico who was picked up by RROESR and taken to El Paso, TX. Unfortunately, no foster homes were available at that time so PonPon had to stay in a boarding facility for over a month. PonPon’s now forever family intended to just foster but PonPon stole their hearts and they fell in love and decided to add him to the family permanently. (Total foster fail!!)

PonPon is a laid back, smart (sometimes too smart!) and playful sheepie who loves playing with his new sister, eating all the things, tennis balls, using the sprinklers as his own personal water fountains & being anywhere where Mom is! (Clearly PonPon has adjusted JUST fine to his new life!) PonPon spends most of his days napping, playing with his sister, eating, keeping watch over the neighborhood from the kitchen windows and snuggling with Mom. He sure just enjoys life but he has a few things he doesn’t love. First and foremost, he’s NOT a fan of being anywhere without his Mom, (smart doggie!) and he could most certainly do without fireworks, large groups of people and groomers. In fact, he hates the groomer so much (and his mom loves him so much!) that she has begun her amateur grooming career to avoid the stress…and thankfully he behaves perfectly for Mom. (Sounds like a win for everyone!)

Since PonPon joined his new family, he has found his voice (they didn't hear him bark/vocalize at all for months!) and a newfound love of chews/rawhides. (The sweetheart literally did not know what to do with them the first time they gave him one.) PonPon has also fallen in love with napping on Mom's bed and he now eats everything he can. (The sneaky boy may or may not have been caught counter surfing a few times - oops!) And while they are working on his manners with him, he’s been a quick study!

PonPon’s family shared that it took a good 2 weeks before their other dog (2 yr-old Great Pyrenees/Poodle named Stella) warmed up to the idea that PonPon was there to stay and not just visiting. But sweet PonPon never stopped trying and while he loves to play with his humans, he prefers to play with his sister and the next-door neighbors dog more. PonPon absolutely loves tennis balls above all other toys. They also shared that he really fit in seamlessly from the first day he arrived. He loves going for car rides and being outdoors but will let you know when he is ready for a nap or he feels it is bedtime. He craves affection and is quick to reciprocate. He’s just the most loving dog they’ve ever had. (Sounds like the most perfect foster fail if you ask us!)

Pumpkin's Momma is happy to share that she is doing great. She shared that Pumpkin has come a long way from being the 29-pound stray she welcomed home to a healthy 60-pound beautiful and fluffy sheepdog. Pumpkin is the sweetest girl who adores attention and loves cuddling. She has a ton of energy and spends her weekends hiking or going to the beaches of Lake Tahoe. (She is a lucky lady if you ask us!) Her Momma also shared that Pumpkin is incredibly smart and graduated obedience training quickly and while she can sometimes still be timid, her confidence continues to grow every day. Mom is super proud of her and feels incredibly lucky to have her as her dog. (Sure sounds like this is a perfect pair!)

This adorable Old English Sheepdog, Iona (formerly Millie) is about 1-2 years old and got to join her forever Momma on March 12th, 2023. Just a month before Iona came to her now Momma she had been taken to RROESR by a family member of the owner, who couldn't keep up with the needs of a young sheepie and had ended up letting her get very matted and kept her locked in a bathroom. (We can’t even imagine what poor Iona was feeling.) RROESR took her directly to the vet where she was sedated, shaved and spayed, and sent off to a foster family where her energy and love of playing was a bit too much for the young children she lived with.

Iona and her Momma bonded over the drive home to Colorado, and the next day she greeted her Momma with a new toy in her mouth and a big grin on her face (If that isn’t the sweetest, we don’t know what is!) Three days later, Iona unleashed the full force of her playfulness! (Yikes - LOL!) RROESR warned her Momma that Iona had no boundaries, which, if Iona’s Momma is being honest, that’s part of the reason she wanted her to join her home: that energy was exactly what she was looking for in terms of needing some love and training. And, as Iona’s Momma will tell you - RROESR was SPOT ON! Iona had all the energy you can imagine, with all the training and behaviors of an 8-week old puppy.

Thus, they began the process of learning rules and boundaries, as well as all the things she could do that were fun and appropriate. Every day, she learned more about what not to do and what to do instead (zoomies together and tug were both great). Momma enrolled her in training classes, but by the time of the first class three weeks later, one of the trainers remarked about how amazingly well behaved she was for a sheepdog. She is as good a dog as there ever was. She's sweetness and light, and just loves everything with a level of enthusiasm that is infectious. She makes her Moma laugh every day and she's loving, positive, and simply just the cutest.

Iona is best described as fun, fun, fun! She loves all things running, sticks, toys, playing, walks, cheese, bread, chips...so, pretty much, she just loves life in general! The perfect day for Iona would start with cuddling followed by some outside time to run around, play some games, and take a long walk. Then, back to the couch for cuddle time before a little more outside play or just some time hanging outside sniffing the smells. And if Iona had it her way, that day would also include some play time with doggie friends, lots of people to pet her and a creek to splash in! It seems safe to say Iona is a lover of (almost) all things…the only things she’s really not a fan of is heat (can’t say we blame her) and cars (but they are working on that!)

Iona’s Momma shared that she is just such a good dog and since joining her home, she's not out of control, but full of bubbly, mischievous energy, and her facial expression tells you everything she's feeling all the time. And, as expected, she’s sheepdog stubborn but she does like to know the rules and live within those guidelines. Momma also shared that there's a funny story about Iona every day. She bows at everything to encourage it to play, even wild rabbits! A very cute story is that a little while back, she got jealous of her Momma giving attention to her brother's cat, and came over and pushed the cat away (not hurting him, but still), and Iona was told she could not do that. With the cat gone, she brushed off the "no" and asked for attention, and Momma just turned her head away and said she wasn't going to talk to her if she behaved like that. Iona then went over to her brother's cat and bowed to him as an apology. Of course, talking resumed between Momma and Iona after that! We are VERY confident that Iona has the absolute perfect home for her and we are also confident that Iona agrees!

This adorable Old English Sheepdog is 4-year-old Pia. Before Pia was welcomed home with the Miller

Family on December 30th, 2022, she had previously been used to breed sheepadoodle puppies and was

surrendered to the RROESR by the owner.

Pia is a playful, loving and sweet young lady who is just one cute snuggle bug who loves to cuddle on the

couch. She also adores toys and her favorite thing to do when she isn't snuggling her humans is to play “keep away” and chase. Pia has lots of doggie friends in the building that she plays with at the dog park.

To beat the summer heat, The Millers have learned that Pia is a big fan of playing in the sprinkler and

loves to chase water! (This has got to be the cutest thing ever!) While this beauty sure isn’t too hard to

please, she is not a big fan of car rides or loud noises. Oh, and as you can imagine, she is most certainly

NOT a fan of the times when her family has to stop snuggling and she can be quite, well, stubborn, about

moving. (We can’t necessarily say we blame her!)

Pia is a girlie who loves her routine. First thing in the morning she gets to go for a walk, followed by a

long morning nap. In the afternoon, it’s dog park time to meet up with friends and play. After this

princess eats her dinner, it’s time for another family walk before evening snuggles. (We are quite jealous

of Pia’s days!!)

The Miller’s shared that Pia fit right into their family since day one, but once she got more settled, she

really opened up and they could see more of her (adorable) personality. They shared that Pia is the

sweetest, happiest dog they have ever known and she loves friends both human and canine. She loves to

go to the farmer's market or play with her cousins, two golden doodles, Fozzy and Emmie. Her human

cousins are her favorite and she loves to cuddle with Momma Miller’s nephews while they play video

games. (What a life this girl has!)

And, we can’t end without sharing…Pia was a dog model recently!!! The local mascot of the local cheese

and wine shop is an Old English sheepdog, so Pia served as a dog model in a photoshoot for the store!

Not only is this a match made in heaven, Pia is also already taking over the town!!!

Romeo

ROMEO

This adorable 17-month Old English Sheepdog, Romeo, was welcomed home on June 4th, 2022.

Romeo was found on the streets in El Paso, Texas, where he was brought into the Humane Society there. Fortunately for Romeo, RROESR rescued him from the humane society and, even better news for Romeo, his now forever family rescued him from RROESR. Romeo’s family shares that he was a mere six months old when they got to welcome him home and he’s made a wonderful addition to their family!

Romeo is a crazy, energetic, lover (he sounds absolutely perfect!), who adores other dogs, lots of belly rubs and is what his family calls a “puppy magnet.” He enjoys spending his days having

lots of play dates, taking walks and lying on the couch. (We think Romeo has life figured out!!) While Romeo is an easy-going sweetheart, he could most certainly do without pools and getting

his hair brushed. In fact, he tends to bite the brush when it’s hair appointment time in hopes he

can get out of it!

The Koletsky Family shared that since Romeo has joined their family he’s adjusted so well and comes by his name when they call him. And, thanks to the wonderful care of his family, he

doesn’t look anorexic anymore. In fact, this cutie pie is doing so well that he is currently training to be a therapy dog for the burn unit in Los Angeles. We cannot wait to see all the smiles Romeo brings to the faces of those in need when he’s done his training. Go, Romeo, Go!

Wall-E

WALL-E

This sweet Old English Sheepdog, Wall-E, was welcomed into the Amacher Family on March 15th, 2023

after quite a rough few months. Sweet Wall-E was in the backseat of a car when the driver was stopped

by police and fled the scene, and, unfortunately, Wall-E was then taken to the local kill shelter. While

there, he was infected with distemper, kennel cough, and Ehrlichia tick disease. Thankfully, the loving

volunteers from RROESR pulled Wall-E and found a foster for him while he received veterinary

treatment. Even more thankfully, Wall-E recovered after several months of wonderful nursing care by his

foster Momma. Finally, in the best ending that could happen to a sweet fury baby, Wall-E finally found

his forever family with the Amacher’s. Driving 11 hours down to El Paso from Southern Utah, his new

parents picked him up to take him back to his new home to be shared with 4 other canine siblings. (We

can only imagine the delight on Wall-E’s face when he finally made it home!)

The Amacher’s shared that Wall-E is truly an amazing dog, with such a gentle, bubbly, and fun loving

nature. He blended beautifully with his new siblings and they all lovingly accepted him into their pack.

Life is terrific for this sweet boy now! If you ask the Amacher’s, they will very quickly tell you that Wall-

E is the best dog ever! He loves stuffed animal babies, his chewy Nylabone and car rides. Wall-E will

never turn down a hike with his Mom and Dad or play dates with his doggie friends. Oh, and we can most

certainly add a love of walks to that list…just NOT the whole putting the harness on thing that happens

pre-walk!

The Amacher’s shared that since Wall-E has joined their family, he’s not nearly as shy as he used to be

and that Wall-E’s puppyish antics bring joy to their lives every day. (There’s no doubt Wall-E surely has

found the most perfect family for him.)

Violet

Sweet Sheepadoodle Violet was welcomed home into the Reilly Family in February 2023. Momma Reilly shared that she saw Violet (named Iris at the time) on the RROESR Facebook page and knew she was just what they needed to fill out their family. At the time, they were in Florida but Momma Reilly quickly contacted the rescue to make sure “Iris” could join their family. As soon as they got home, she jumped in her car to drive 4 hours to pick her up. Violet was the best girl in the car on the way home. (This cutie surely must have known she was headed to the best place possible!) Since Violet didn't respond to her original name, Momma Reilly tried out lots of flower names as they drove home and she picked Violet. (We love a girl that knows what she wants!)

Violet is funny, kissy and (mostly) calm. (True Sheepadoodle puppy, right?!) She loves Murphy (her 16-month old labradoodle brother that the Reilly’s also got from RROESR), treats and learning new tricks. (We are guessing the Reilly household is full of antics with these two still growing up!) Violet is a silly girl because despite the fact that she’s a puppy that likes to get in the bathtub, she sure does NOT like swimming in the lake. (We can only guess that maybe she doesn’t want to get her pretty fur dirty?!?!) Violet loves to spend her days playing with Murphy, chewing up balls (but not her stuffed toys!) and laying at Momma Reilly’s feet.

The Reilly Family shared that in the several months that they have had her, she has grown to be huge. At 7 months, she is as tall and weighs the same as Murphy! They also shared that she's so sweet and goofy. She has even recently learned to "shake" and goes to where they keep the treat with her paw up as if to say, 'I'm doing the trick now, so please give me a treat.' It’s clear as day that this smart girl surely was destined to be with the Reilly’s and we are all for a good love story

This beautiful lady is Petunia. The Alberts Family adopted Petunia from RROESR in July 2018. Mr. Alberts flew to El Paso and drove all the way home (to Northern CA!) with this special little girl and they later learned this formed an unmatched bond between the two of them. (If this isn’t a love story, we don’t know what is!)

Petunia is the queen of the Alberts castle and she is a super sheepie…with a tail! She is a total love and in the 30 years that The Alberts have had an OES, she is the very first to sleep in bed with them. (We are thinking they are quite thrilled…even if their space to sleep is likely limited now!) Petunia is extremely sweet and a total joy and her absolute favorite thing to do is play ball…and be at her daddy's side - in no particular order! Petunia and her Daddy have the tightest bond ever and she just totally adores him.

The Alberts shared that Petunia is a bit on the spoiled side and she knows their world revolves around her. (We repeat - a true love story!) Petunia is a vegetarian like her mom, as she eats a salad nightly before her actual meal and her favorite foods are yogurt and peanut butter.

The Alberts couldn’t be happier to have this sweetheart in their family and adopting this sweet little lady is the best thing they ever did! They just absolutely adore her.

Marley

This handsome young man, Marley, is the second cutie pie the Alberts adopted from RROESR. This ridiculously cute Sheepadoodle (who most certainly has more OES characteristics - AKA is a total handful!) was welcomed home in September 2022.

Just like with his sister Petunia (also featured on this page), Mr. Alberts flew to El Paso, TX but this time had the intent of flying home with this lil guy. However, as luck would have it, this lil sheepie was too big to fit in the carrier they purchased (oops!!) and so Daddy Alberts drove him all the way back to Northern CA.

Marley has a bobbed tail and they quickly found out that his favorite toy is Petunia's beautiful full tail. (Uh oh!) Marley is relentless in the pursuit of Petunia's tail, much to Petunia's displeasure. (But what are brothers for?!) While Marley and Petunia are still acclimating to each other, they get along for the most part, but they do tend to antagonize each other on a daily basis. (typical siblings, right?!)

Marley has been to several obedience training classes, and is well aware of what he is expected to do! Now, whether he chooses to follow through or not is dependent on the reward for his efforts. (With his cuteness, how does he not get away with whatever he wants?!) He is such an extremely smart lil guy & very inquisitive with regard to his surroundings.

One of the cutest things he does is let his family know when he is thirsty, hungry, or ready to go out. When Marley is ready for a drink, he sits by his room and intently stares until his human gets the message. Marley loves to play ball, but is quick to regulate his activity and save his energy and when he has had enough, he will take his ball & find a shady spot and watch Petunia run and chase the ball. (He’s surely not lacking personality!)

Marley’s taste buds take after his sisters as he, too, loves peanut butter & salad. He loves all the children of the neighborhood, and they adore him, too. As soon as he sees a member of the Marley fan club, (and we are guessing this club is huge and still growing), he sits at the bottom of their driveway and waits for them to come and give him a hug or a pat!

The Alberts are extremely pleased they made the decision to get Petunia a playmate and Marley is the sweetest, freshest, smartest little sheepadoodle ever. (Another true love story, if you ask us!)

Bertram

Bertram

Bertram is an adorable, spunky 4-year-old “middle aged” OES (who still has ALL the puppy energy!) who was welcomed home with the Butterfield family on January 3rd, 2023.

The Butterfields saw Bertram (formerly “Waffles”) on Facebook and Momma Butterfield instantly fell in love. Their family had been wanting a larger dog that didn't shed and an OES was the clear answer. Daddy Butterfield hopped in the car and drove to El Paso (all the way from Utah) to pick him up. Bertram has (easily) wiggled his way into their hearts. He loves any and all things tennis balls, food and being RIGHT next to Mom or Dad. (We’d never get anything done with this cutie hanging next to us!) If Bertram had it his way, he’d spend all of his days going on walks with Dad, surveying the neighborhood from the deck, riding in the car anywhere and following Paul around the house! And while Bertram is pretty easy to please, he could do without a few things: he is most certainly not a fan of anyone even considering taking his food, not being allowed to run the neighborhood freely or taking baths! Oh, and they also discovered that he HATES the garbage truck! In fact, he hates it so much that he broke his collar because he had to go save the lifted garbage can. (They now wait until the garbage truck is done on their street before venturing out!)

Bertram’s family shared that he’s goofy, stubborn, smart and has SUCH a big puppy spirit! He loves the snow, walks, tennis balls and any treat he can find. And while his enthusiasm for meeting new people is overwhelming at times, they are all working on it together! (And we can’t say we blame him - he’s finally found his humans!) Bertram has made friends with the Butterfields’ son's Blue Heeler, Apollo. In fact, despite not loving the doggie door at first, Bertram learned to love it after Apollo came over for some visits showed him the ropes! Unfortunately, their other son's Shih tzu is still a little leery but who knows what will happen over time! (We can imagine the size difference is a bit intimidating.)

The Butterfields shared that Bertram has adjusted so nicely to his new home and his food hoarding is now under control They also shared that Bertram greets the world every morning when he goes outside with barks to announce he's awoken! (We can’t think of a better wake-up call!) They also shared that when Bertie first arrived, he was quite the escape artist. Their neighbor down the block has a pick up truck and Bertie would high tail it to that truck and their open garage. (oops!) They quickly learned that he loves open garages and that he's even "marked" their next door neighbor's - and that was AFTER he had run into their garage and into their house through an open door. (Oops again!) Thankfully their neighbors are the best and they just calmly opened their front door and he ran out and back home. Bertie has finally accepted his (wonderful!) family and that this is his home and pretty much stays with them outside now (well, kind of, anyway!) Bertie surely has found the most perfect home and his family knows their lives have been changed forever because of him. (We are ALL here for a good love story!)

Gus

This one-year-old sheepdog, Gus, was welcomed home on November 12h, 2022. Gus’ now forever family

shared that they were told by his previous family that "he loves too hard," and they had small children who were being harmed because Gus is very affectionate and is unaware that he is a big dog. They started fostering Gus right around Halloween 2022 and clearly it was a match made in heaven because they

made it official and adopted him shortly after!

Gus is a goofy, affectionate and protective young cutie-pie that likes food, being outside and going for

walks. He also enjoys car rides, pup cups (smart boy) and just spending time with his family. Gus’s family

shared that he likes to spend his days playing with his older sister, going on walks, and playing outside.

He also loves cuddling on the couch with the family, too! It sure sounds like Gus is quite the easy-going

dude… That is, until he sees/hears semi trucks, school buses, UPS/USPS vehicles, or, really, any car with a

loud exhaust! (Let’s hope not too many of these pass his house daily!!)

Since The Bellinger’s adopted Gus, they shared that he has been neutered and they feel as though he has

a lot more mental stimulation and training now. He is a very good boy who is very well behaved! The

Bellinger’s are so happy they found Gus and shared that he completes their family. They are so incredibly

happy that he and his big sister are best friends. It sure sounds as though Gus found his perfect family,

and his family has found a perfect addition!

Lucy

This sweet Old English Sheepdog, Lucy, came to her now forever family in September 2022.

Lucy was originally surrendered by a breeder and was then placed into foster care and adopted.

Unfortunately, that adoption did not work out as they later learned that Lucy evidently didn’t like cats. However, fortunately for Lucy, her current family don’t necessarily love cats either so they had a strong feeling that Lucy would fit right in with them! After her failed adoption, Lucy was placed back with her previous foster but then the Chew Family found her and got to welcome her home!

When Lucy first came to them, she was very timid. But now she has blossomed into a fabulous, outgoing personality and has stolen all of their hearts. Lucy loves to snuggle and still is trying

very hard to convince her family that she belongs on the couch. (With her cuteness, we wonder

how much longer it will take her to win that battle!!) Lucy has daily zoomies and loves to play ball with her family, or, really, even by herself! She will leap through the backyard as she plays.

(If that isn’t genuine happiness, we don’t know what is!)

The Chew family can’t imagine life without Lucy and they feel so fortunate that they found each other. We’d argue that sometimes those rough starts lead to the most beautiful places and we

are so happy for Lucy and The Chew Family!

Ellie

This beautiful, 3.5 year-old Sheepdog, Ellie, was welcome into The Thibodeaux Family on January 15th, 2023.Sadly, their beloved Charley-Girl died unexpectedly while they were on vacation in Scottsdale. Needless to say, at that point, their vacation was over. They had not been “dog-less” for 38 years and they had NO desire to start. They decided to call Janelle of RROESR who put Momma Thibodeaux in touch with Cindy, who recommended Ellie for their family. They then drove immediately from Scottsdale to Yukon to meet Ellie…and take her home. It was truly love at first sight! Of course, Ellie was not a “replacement” for Charley, but just a pup to fill their hearts with even more love. ❤️ The sweet girl must have known she was headed to a life filled with nothing but love because she proceeded to sleep all the way home to Santa Fe. (7 hours!)

Ellie is a loving, goofy, adorable young lady who loves walks, other dogs and any / all people! Oh and we can’t forget to mention her love of Benebones, kissing, and “Rawhide the TV show.” (She loves the cattle and horses!) Ellie is an absolute joy who loves to spend her days sleeping, walking, birdwatching and watching TV! But we can’t forget to mention, she’s not crazy about going into her crate, (we can’t say we blame her with so many other fun things to do in her house!) but she’s fine once she’s in there! Oh, and then there’s the whole bathroom thing…apparently she isn’t a fan (putting it mildly) of the “potty area” in the rental home so she requires (demands?!) to be walked EVERY SINGLE TIME she needs to go out!! (This must be interesting in the crazy Sante Fe weather!!)

The Thibodeaux’s shared that Ellie just seems very happy and relaxed and has fit right into their home and their life. There is no doubt in their minds that she really saved them when they lost their Charley-Girl as it was such a shocking and unexpected death. Thankfully, Ellie just came in and filled the void and even though they are still grieving for Charley, (unfortunately, most loving pet parents can, sadly, relate this,) Ellie has brought us so much love and joy to their home at a time when they needed it most. (If you ask us, it sure sounds like Ellie and her family were both saved in this sweet rescue story.)

Stella

Sweet Sheepadoodle Stella is just a “baby” at a mere 18-months old and was welcomed into the Sellman Family on June 3rd, 2022. Stella came from a backyard breeder farm and the elderly woman who ran it could no longer care for the animals Thankfully, RROESR took in all of the Sheepadoodles. (And thus, Stella was saved…but the poor Stella is still terrified of women with gray hair!!!)

Stella is a loving, gentle sweetheart that loves her doodle brother, lounging and getting all the loving pets she can! She is most often found playing, sleeping, and being petted. (We are noticing a trend here!) While she’s so easy to please, she does NOT like being away from her doodle brother. (Or ladies with gray hair…did we mention that?!)

Since being welcomed into her new family, Stella is still shy but she is getting better. She has completely bonded with brother and while she was underweight, she has filled out beautifully. (And we’d say she’s as cute as ever!)

Stella’s family shared that even though her doodle brother may have been there first, that Stella actually rescued him! That cutie is SO high energy - as in way too much for humans alone to manage! But now that he has Stella, they play together all day long and he actually gets tired now (and has become much more well-behaved!!) Sounds like Stella sure hit the jackpot…and so did her brother!!!

Sweet Ruby

Sweet Ruby

Sweet Ruby (formerly Sweet Pea,) joined her now forever home on March 18th, 2022. At nine months old, she was found wandering the streets of Arlington, TX and brought to the local shelter, from where she was thankfully rescued by RROESR.

Ruby’s family had just moved back to Wichita and their house was still a mess but Ruby settled right in anyway. She studied her new family for a day or two and clearly decided that she liked it there because she very decisively took over the bed in the master bedroom!! Her family decided to change her name to Ruby (a bit shorter than her rescue name) so she could learn her name quickly since she would not answer to the Sweet Pea! (Ruby is a girl that knows what she wants!)

Ruby had many firsts in year one with her family: She learned how to go up and down the stairs, catch a ball and walk on the leash (more or less!) Ruby also graduated from the puppy school despite not being the best student by any stretch of the imagination! In fact, the only command she liked was “come to Mama”, which made her human Momma very happy and other parents quite jealous. (We can’t blame them!) Ruby also learned many words, and became very vocal using a wide range of the sounds. (Her family's hope is that they’ll be having long conversations pretty soon! ) During the cold winter, Ruby got her first coat, and loved it so much that nobody could take it off her - even in the house! (This girl has quite the personality!)

Although she loves people, Ruby is still a little nervous around those she doesn’t know. She doesn’t eat much, but is still worried about having enough food in her dish (even though she always gets the best chicken pieces,) and she barks very loudly at her dad when he forgets to share! (Silly dad - how could he forget?!) One habit they can’t quite get rid of yet is her nipping at her Momma’s ankles but they are working with her because they have a feeling that she mostly does that when she is worried that they might leave and she will stay behind. (We can surely understand her concern.)

Ruby is a sweet little homebody and enjoys going for short walks (and to return home as quickly as possible!) She also likes playing with her ball or a game of tag inside the house, but isn’t a huge fan of playing in the backyard. In fact, the silly girl refuses to go outside when it’s cold or snowing! (uh oh!) Ruby takes her job of protecting her house very seriously; mostly from the Canadian geese! She loves to sleep and on her Momma’s days off she will sleep next to her until 10am without ever waking her up. Ruby loves hugs and kisses, and, man, she gives the best kisses! In fact, she loves kisses so much that they even have a designated kissing chair in the family room! (We’d love to sit in this chair!) Overall, Ruby is a healthy and a happy pup, and her family just loves her so dearly!

Betty

This beauty of a Sheepadoodle, Betty, was welcomed home with the Woods family on September 4th,

2022.

Sweet Betty had a rough welcome to the world. Betty’s mom “sheepdog” was surrendered by a breeder in

Dallas, who did not know that she was pregnant “by a standard poodle.” After finding out, a foster was

found who helped raise the puppies. Unfortunately, they all developed kennel cough and it made for a

very scary week. Thankfully, they were super strong and pulled through. Once they got the greenlight,

the Woods family was finally able to make the trip to El Paso to pick up their baby. They shared that Betty

has been the perfect addition to their family. At 8 months, they decided a K9 trainer was needed but a

mere 2 weeks later, they have the most amazing, well-behaved sheepadoodle they could’ve ever asked

for!!

Betty is a smart, energetic and loving young lady who loves treats, snuggles and her family. Betty can

often be found playing tug, running around the back yard and herding her older sister! She is such a

sweetheart but is so not a fan of naps or bedtime! (Oh that puppy energy!)

Betty’s family shared that she is growing so fast and that she is a compassionate, sweet girl. In fact, she’s

so wonderful that they are currently having her certified for therapy work. And it sounds like she’ll be the

perfect fit because no one can pet her without smiling and she brings joy to everyone she meets!

Annie & Emma

The second half of this “sister” duo, Annie, was welcomed into her forever home with the Moore

Family on February 28th, 2022. With a rough start as a “failed Valentine’s gift,” The Moore’s

argue that the failed gift turned into their treasure!

Annie is a happy, adventurous and semi-stubborn soul and who loves her dad, her sister Emma

and any and all sticks - she is so not particular! Annie is quite content to spend her days playing

and sleeping and she is a happy, happy girl….as long as Momma Moore doesn’t use the word

“no” related to her!

Momma Moore shared that having two rescued Old English Sheepdogs is a consistent

adventure (we’d agree that it’s the best type of adventure!) and Annie was such a breeze to add

to the family - she was toilet and leased trained in 4 weeks!

Toby

TOBY

This handsome 1½ year-old Sheepadoodle, Toby, was welcomed to his forever home on July 16th, 2022. This cutie was accidentally picked up by the RROESR because they thought he was a full sheepdog since his hair was so long! His previous owners neglected his grooming and his hair was extremely matted, so they had to shave him completely. To his (now) family’s surprise, not many people were interested in adopting Toby because he had such short hair. (And they thought it was so silly because he was still such a beautiful dog!) After learning all about him, they decided he was the best fit for their family so they, along with their current fur child (an Australian Shepherd), drove all the way down to Houston from Colorado. That 16-hour drive was WELL worth it because they immediately fell in love with Toby. (And now they can’t imagine their lives without him!) He and his fur sister are best friends and cannot stop playing all day long. They truly could not have asked for a better match. Now Toby gets to hike up mountains, swim in lakes, and play with neighborhood dogs at the park!! (Clearly Toby hit the jackpot!)

Toby is a goofy, sweet, and bouncy young man who loves tennis balls, dancing, running, and his Australian Shepherd sister! Oh, and we can’t forget his favorite foods: he could eat rice and chicken all day long and eagerly awaits his Barkbox! In fact, this sweetheart is so easy to please that the only thing he doesn’t like is when people don’t say hi to him! (Who could ever walk by him without saying hello?!)

Toby’s family shared that he loves to sit on the patio and people watch, sleep under his Momma’s desk while she works, play with his fur sister all day (and he even shares toys with her!) After work, they go to the mini dog park where he gets to chase tennis balls. He loves to wind down at night cuddling with his family and even enjoys getting his hair brushed! (Good thing because that needs done daily from all the playing!)

Toby’s family shared that since he’s joined their family he’s learned so much. He has been doing much better on the leash and even though he still has his moments, he’s learning to slow down more often and is very good at sitting and stopping when he’s asked to. He is also working on not jumping on people to greet them. He still can’t help but do it but with the help of some friends he has made improvements! His hair is also looking healthier and growing out the way it should! Finally, he has also helped his fur sister feel more confident playing with bigger dogs and has made her so happy. (They have even picked up on each other's mannerisms!)

Toby really is such a light in his family’s life and brings so much laughter to them every day! He makes the funniest noises when he plays with other dogs and has learned to paw at them for attention from their other dog (and they think it’s adorable how they work as a team!) Toby and his fur sibling are so close that they have a mini reunion after Toby gets his daily walk!! Seeing Toby run is also so funny - he’s such a bouncy boy and loves to twist and hop around when he’s excited! Their family is finally full and they are so excited to go on many more adventures together! (If you ask us, Toby sure is living the good life!!)

This sweet girl, Mimi, was adopted by her furever family in January 2022. RROESR picked her

Mimi lives with her retired human parents and her favorite pastime just might be joining on the

golf cart after she gets to happy hour with her family! (We can only imagine her excitement

when it’s time to ride!)

Her parents share that she is truly the best sheepdog they’ve ever had. (And considering

they’ve had three OES’s over 44 years, Mimi must REALLY be something special!)

Mimi’s exudes happiness and that just makes her parents even happier (if that’s possible!)

This 3-year-old cutie is Tripp. Before being welcomed home on April 16th, 2022, Tripp was at a rescue in Kansas City that was a run down puppy mill where he was used as the male breeding dog for sheep-a-doodles.

Tripp (AKA “Trippy”) is an affectionate, loving and funny dude who loves to spend his days eating, taking mountain walks, exploring river trails and cuddling. (It sure sounds like Tripp is the perfect companion!)

Tripp’s family shared that since he’s joined their home he now knows how to get on the bed, navigate the stairs, play with his toys and brother and sit. (He sure has learned a lot in a few short months!) Oh, and maybe most important, Tripp finally knows what it’s like to be a loved dog!!!

Tripp’s Momma shared that he is truly her soul dog. She feels so lucky to be his "mom" and she’s confident that he came into her life for a reason. She absolutely could not ask for a better boy and just quite simply, adores him! (Sure sounds like a match made in heaven if you ask us!)

This 18-month-old cutie is Sadie. She was welcomed home on January 27th, 2022. Sadie was one of two sisters that were surrendered to RROESR. Sadie’s family knew they wanted to make her a part of their family in early December so they submitted an application for Sadie immediately. Sadie needed to be spade so between surgery and then weather issues, there was a bit of a wait but she was eventually brought to her now forever family from New Mexico to Michigan via Pet Transport in the end of January. (We are guessing that the wait had to seem forever long for her family!)

Sweet Sadie is a lover, a pleaser and a teaser!! She likes all things cuddles, play dates, and walks with Candy, Tom and her Momma at Dog Park Play. She’s also a huge fan of car rides and actually likes grooming dates! (We are thinking Sadie doesn’t mind being pampered!) In fact, this cutie is so easy to please that her family can’t even think of anything that she DOESN’T like!!! A day in the life of Sadie includes morning cuddles followed by promoting her healthy teeth and gums with her Nubz. She’ll then take a little snooze where she is most likely dreaming about her next car ride and play dates!

Sadie’s families shared that since she’s been welcomed home she’s learned quite a bit. She is no longer a counter surfer and she’s completely potty trained. She is also so much more socialized now and is great with humans. (Oh, and Candy is protective of her fur sibling, Sadie!)

Sadie’s family shared that they feel they hit the Super Jackpot with Sadie! Sadie has become an amazing emotional support with her loving ways and that she will come over and stare into their eyes to search how they are feeling. Sadie far exceeds any expectations her family may have had and she is very demonstrative with her paw! (The girl just knows what she wants, right?!) This sweetie has definitely helped both Tom and her human Momma with their grief of losing their life long partners and she and Candy have bonded so sweetly. (We are confident it’s safe to say this is most certainly a “meant-to-be” match!)

Two-year-old Daisy joined the Nappier Family on December 17th, 2021. This loving, loyal and energetic young lady was turned over to RROESR along with her brother.

Daisy is a true sweetheart and loves nothing more than snuggling and running with her fur siblings. She has a schedule and is very adamant that her family sticks to it! (Hmmm, we think all families could use a Daisy to keep them in line!!) Daisy demands her days go something like this: running upon waking up, followed by chasing squirrels, geese and herding her pack. After cool down, it’s time to eat, potty then nap time. Treat time comes around noon, which includes loving, petting and brushing. Around 5pm, she’ll most certainly let you know it's time to eat, and if it's not too hot, after that it’s time to check out the backyard. After 7pm is wind down time by watching TV and snuggling with Dad. Bedtime includes a final potty break and 1/3 of a weiner…this girl loves treats!

Clearly this sweet girl has life all figured out…now if only she could get those strangers that show up at the house to stay away, all would be perfect!

The Nappier’s shared that since Daisy joined their family, she has gotten very protective. Their other two doodles love everyone, but Daisy is a selective girl. They also shared that Daisy is the youngest of their 3 dogs, but she is slowly becoming the Alpha dog. (We aren’t shocked by her schedule demands!) She dislikes the eldest doodle and herds the other doodle! Her family absolutely adores her and just loves her so much. She’s the sweetest dog and they are always laughing about their Crazy Daisy!

This cutie is Howard…a two-year-old German Shepherd who was welcomed home on October 2nd, 2020. Howard was one of six German Shepherd pups that the rescue couldn’t say no to and Momma Dobson and her son road tripped from Nevada to meet Howard after they both fell in love with his photo. (The Dobson are a bit concerned about Janelle, RROESR’s president, posting such adorable photos on the site because it’s going to make them want ALL the doggies!��)

Howard is a smart, energetic and focused young man who loves his human brother (like REALLY loves him) and also likes balls/playing fetch, walks and playing in the desert. He would play fetch 24/7 if he could. He also loves to rip up cardboard boxes. (We should get him a job at Amazon!) He really likes to spend time outside and will lay on the porch so he can see over the fence and keep an eye on everything. Howard is such a happy fur baby but he is NOT a fan of his boy not taking him with him everytime he leaves and is NOT happy unless he’s in the same room/area as you. (Must be the herding dog in him!)

Howard is a perfect fit for his forever home and has been since day one. Since the Dobson’s have had him since he was a puppy, they just went through the normal puppy to adult dog stuff that all puppy owners go through. Momma Dobson shared that Howard really is such a good baby boy. He barks too much when the neighbors come home and isn't really food motivated but Momma D’s learned that distracting him with a toy works! It is a huge win that they are pretty excited about. Howard gives awesome hugs (we could all use those!) and puts his paws on your shoulders. Oh, and we can’t end this without sharing Howard’s love of laying down on tables…like kitchen tables…as in Momma’s tie dyeing table!! (We need an updated photo if he ever ends up tie-dyed himself!)

This cutie is Shep - a happy, kind and loving soul who joined his family on December 15th, 2021.

Shep joined RROESR from Juarez and, unfortunately, had an STD which required him to go through chemotherapy before he got to come live with his forever Fur Momma. We’d bet Shep would say it was worth the wait because now he lives the dream dog life and loves being a farm dog and snuggling in bed! Shep also enjoys roling in horse manure, hot dogs, snuggling and giving kisses. He never tires of running and he’s never short on kisses to share! (He’s most certainly pretty much the perfect gentleman!) But, as luck would have it, he does NOT like baths. Staying clean is quite the challenge for this cutie but we’d bet those kisses far outweigh his favorite scent…manure!

Shep’s Momma shared that Shep is the kindest, sweetest dog and that he never has a bad day and is always excited to give kisses!

This energetic cuddle bug is 2-year-old, Buzz, who was rescued by his Momma on January 6th, 2022.

Buzz was a stray that escaped from his original house and when the first family that adopted this cutie from RROESR had a family emergency and had to give him back, he was scooped right up by his now forever family! When he was seen on the rescue site, Momma Longhenry flew down to pick him up and drive him back to his now forever home in Iowa.

Buzz is a lover of food (boy after our own hearts!) and his sister, Birdie. If he had it his way, he’d spend all his days playing with his sister, walking and eating! While he is most certainly easy to please, he does not enjoy when other dogs are out walking or walking past his house!

Momma Longhenry shared that being a stray has had some challenges so they went to training to help him find ways to become more social with other dogs. She also shared that since he has come into her and her pups life, he has made their family complete. He has learned to play well with other dogs, and maybe most importantly, he has learned that he finally does not have to worry about where his next meal is…and he sure enjoys his food!

This happy, mellow lover boy is 2-year-old Atlas, who joined his forever home on 12/8/21.

Poor, sweet Atlas was a victim of abuse and neglect and he was left outside all alone with very minimal food and water. When he was rescued, he was incredibly matted and when he was shaved down, they removed what looked like a thick rug of dirty matted fur from him. What they found underneath was only about 50 lbs of skin and bone and the saddest eyes you’ve ever seen.

When Atlas first joined his now forever family, he was incredibly timid and he couldn’t get enough food. Fast forward to today and now he is not a bit picky and turns his nose up at certain types of food!! He used to take all his toys outside and only play by himself but now he plays with his whole family and other dogs inside and outside. He also now understands that he is in charge and basically rules the house. To put it simply, he is spoiled now and loving it!

Atlas’s family shared that he loves hugs, play dates with his cousins, treats, and barking at passers by! Oh and we can’t forget that his favorite pastime is pretending to be a lapdog!! He also patrols and guards his yard, (yes, HIS yard!). Atlas also very much enjoys going for long walks on the nature trail and watching TV snuggled up with his humans..all while allowing them to take turns rubbing his chest! While Atlas’s list of likes is long, he could most certainly do without vegetables and getting his nails cut!! (We guess Atlas isn’t a fan of pawdicures!)

Atlas’s family shared that they began looking to rescue an OES as they lost their beloved OES, Oliver, of 12 years a few months before and they were just heartbroken. They saw Atlas on the FB page and felt something. Everyone thought he was an OES, but a DNA test showed he’s 80% Great Pyrenees, a bunch of other things but 0% OES! (Apparently looks can be deceiving!) But his family will tell you that there is something very OES (and very Oliver) about his personality, his energy and the love he emits. They are quite smitten and couldn’t be happier with him and his life has improved 1000x over when he came to live with them…and theirs did, too!!!

Trojan (formerly Oreo) is enjoying the spoiled life, as he truly deserves. He usually spends a few days a week at his aunt’s house (who is responsible for talking me into getting him) where he gets to play with 3 other dogs (his best friends). He also spends one day each week at doggy daycare where he gets to continuously play with tons of other dogs (if there’s another dog willing to play, he’s ready).

He loves exploring the 2-acre property he lives on (as long as the door stays open so he can come back in whenever he wants), and he goes crazy playing in the snow.

Having him in my life has been amazing. He’s such a loving dog. I’ve always enjoyed having a lap dog, and that was true even with my previous 100 lb. sheepdog who would only come up for a few minutes at a time usually, but Trojan loves sleeping in my lap (though thank goodness he finally learned to wait to be invited up instead of just launching himself into my lap whenever he wanted).

His story was a sad one but the day the Red River found him in the rain, hit by a car matted to the bone his life began. Yes I had just lost my 2 oes last yr and was not ready my heart was broken. Then when I saw his blue eyes I knew we needed each other. Yes I live in FL, yes he was in tx. And yes covid but I flew to get him and the 18 hr drive home was worth it. Yes he has a lot of fears like hoses, water and any rain but the best at giving hugs. It has only been 6 months but feels like he has been here forever. I would or might travel again oes are so worth saving

Penny’s (formally Twinkly) is the happiest dog we’ve ever had. Her tail is a perpetual motion machine, and she’s always smiling. We were initially told that she didn’t get along with other dogs. Whatevs, as the kids like to say. The only negative is her vicious streak: she belted me right in my huevos rancheros the other day with her Indiana Jones bullwhip tail. Which isn’t an insult, it’s what she is so simmer down. Except I think she might have been laughing at me, so maybe it is an insult. We wouldn’t trade her for all the whiskey in Scotland.
