comet

This cutie of an OES was welcomed home (with his 2 other OES fur siblings!) on Jan, 29th, 2026. Comet was found on the streets in El Paso a few days prior to Christmas. (He was appropriately named for the reindeer along with his brother, Blitzen!) The poor little guy was terribly matted, so after being groomed he was in boarding until he found his furever home. His family was fortunate that a volunteer offered to bring him from El Paso to Dallas to meet them and help get him home to Huntsville, AL.

Comet is playful, loving and charming and loves all things toys, treats, sleeping in his humans’ bed, long walks, and ear scratches. (Ah, the finer things in life!) And he will never turn down an opportunity to go for rides in the golf cart and car. While Comet sure has a long list of things he loves, he isn’t a fan or a brush (oops!) or anyone wearing a hat (LOL!).

Comet loves spending his days playing with his 2 sheepdog brothers, Alexander Hamilton and Bandit (another RROESR pup). He also loves a squeaky toy and sleeping on the cold tile floor in summer and laying by the fire on a cold winter night.

Since joining his family Comet has gained 42lbs and grown very tall. He has come out of his shell and is no longer apprehensive about new situations and is the life of the party when his family has company. Comet’s family shared that he is their 12th OES and their third rescue. When he first arrived, he had no idea how to walk up staircases and would sit and whine and cry at the bottom of the stairs as his brothers ran up and down. Now he flies up the stairs and waits for the others to meet him at the top. (No doubt Comet hit the jackpot with his home!)
