Meka

Four-year-old Meka got to join her furever home on July 01, 2025. Her now family had an OES for 12 years (awww) who passed in April 2025 and they had always wanted to rescue one. They found RROESR on social media and applied to adopt immediately. 

Meka is an athletic, clingy and sweet girl who loves chasing squirrels and little animals. (This is quite cute to her family but may not be to them - oops!) She stays around her family since they work at home, but she loves to go outside and find some animals to chase! She'll jump into the bed or couch with her family, too. So, she’s pretty much summed up as very clingy to her family and so sweet! (What more could you ask for?!) Meka’s one “ugh” in life is weird people…girls got a personality, what can we say?!

When Meka first joined her family she was super timid. She would be scared to walk into new rooms or even bark. Fast forward and now she barks whenever she sees new people and runs all over the house. Her tail is constantly wagging high up in the air!



Meka’s family took her sheepherding and she didn't show too much interest (LOL) but she WAS excited to greet the other people and dogs at the ranch! Her family suspects she may have some hunting / pointing instinct and they are planning to take her bird hunting this winter/spring. She's also super athletic and graceful. The family’s previous sheepdog was a wrecking ball and tore through the house and backyard but Meka is hyper agile and can run through a room full of toys and not knock anything over! (We need a video of this!) She also jumps VERY high and easily over high couches and bushes. One funny quirk is that she has a habit of eating poop! (uh oh…) They try to pick everything up but sometimes they miss a turd and she may end up eating it! (It happens!) Once she even brought a giant turd back into the kitchen for her dad…and being the great dad that he is, he thought it was very sweet that she'd share :-) (Sure sounds like Meka is in the most perfect home for her!)
